Corner View California...staple foods

PIZZA!!! Okay, now that I'm done with my food frenzy, I can rationally say that pizza is not really a staple food in the normal sense of the word. I would love to show pictures of delicious, seasonal, and local produce. Things like tomatoes, onions, garlic, artisanal cheeses and breads, honey.... But, truth be told, I love pizza. There's just no substitute when you don't want to cook. You know what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow!

To see staple foods in other parts of the world, check out the participants in my sidebar.

And, if you'd like to participate, contact Jane at Spain Daily. Next week's theme is "places of reflection...where you go to just be..."

  5. When I have breakfast, I also have something savory. Not pizza, though: we never have any leftover pizza at my house!

  15. that looks scrumptious! The Moon and I sometimes make pizza together, and have such a lot of fun rolling out the dough. But it's also a very good thing to be able to grab a pizza base and just scatter sundry goodies over the top, grab a glass of red and slurp it all up noisily. Ahhh...wunnerful.

  18. I see I'm not alone in my love affair with pizza!

Francesca, I'm with you on the savory breakfast. I'm not much of a sweet breakfast kind of person. I wish we could have dinner for breakfast around 10:00 in the morning.

Denise, I LOVE arugula. I've never tried it on pizza, but I can imagine it. That nutty, slightly bitter taste. Mmmm....

Docwitch, we make our own pizza sometimes, too (even made it in our solar cooker!). And you know, I'm no great chef, but it always tastes better homemade. Like Cris said above, "Pizza is good, even when it's not!" Sometimes, I just want someone else to cook for me, tho'.

Bonnie and April, I've thought about a weekly pizza night, too. Or you could have a calzone night and use up the leftovers from the week.

This corner view theme has been making my mouth water!!!

  22. We have "Friday Pizza Day" in our home. I try and make it home made, but sometimes it's all about take 'n bake. I guess that makes it a staple in our home-loL! Yes, you're definitely not alone!
